Parkland Medical Center to Hold Free Skin Cancer Screenings
Skin cancer affects more then one million Americans every year. The American Cancer Society recommends a skin examination by a physician every three years for individuals between the ages of 20 and 40, and annually for those 40 and older. It is important for people to understand the importance of cancer screenings. Parkland offers free screenings because if caught at an early stage, there are successful steps that can be taken to ensure a cure, said Dr. Mallen. The screenings will take place at Parklands Oncology Clinic, located in Suite 209 of the Nutfield Professional Building at 44 Birch Street. Space is limited and appointments must be scheduled in advance by calling (603) 421-2458. |
